Position Overview
The Senior Vice President (SVP) of Enterprise Project Management is a top-level leader accountable for executing corporate strategy and managing the project governance system. Reporting typically to the CEO, COO, or Corporate Strategy Committee, this role entails developing enterprise-wide project management strategies, establishing governance frameworks, leading major projects, and ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
The SVP focuses on timely, quality, and budget-compliant delivery of strategic projects by aligning resources, refining management procedures, strengthening organizational execution, and spearheading business transformations. This role is critical in large conglomerates, multinationals, technology firms, manufacturers, financial entities, and rapidly growing companies.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop enterprise-wide project management strategies, annual plans, and execution roadmaps.
- Create and implement a corporate project management system that translates strategic objectives into actionable project portfolios.
- Provide executive analysis and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
- Build and maintain a project governance framework including standards, processes, methodologies, and guidelines.
- Establish and organize the Project Management Office (PMO) to elevate project maturity and execution capabilities.
- Manage the portfolio of strategic projects including business transformation, digital initiatives, product development, and operational improvements.
- Oversee project prioritization, resource distribution, and ROI alignment with corporate strategy.
- Lead delivery and implementation of key enterprise projects, managing scope, budgets, timelines, risks, and quality standards.
- Set up monitoring systems to guarantee on-time delivery and resolve cross-functional project challenges.
- Coordinate with various departments (Operations, Product, R&D, Sales, Marketing, Finance, HR) to promote collaboration and optimize resource utilization.
- Develop effective communication and decision-making processes within projects.
- Implement risk management frameworks including risk identification, assessment, and mitigation strategies.
- Define and uphold quality management standards to ensure project stability and success.
- Drive the digital transformation of project management with platforms, analytics, dashboards, and collaboration tools.
- Enhance transparency and efficiency of execution through data-driven insights.
- Build and lead a high-performing project management team, develop talent, and nurture a culture of excellence and strategic execution.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering Management, Project Management, Business Administration, IT, Operations Management, or related fields.
- Advanced degrees like MBA or Master’s in Project Management, or equivalent management education preferred.
- Project management certifications such as PMP, PgMP, or PRINCE2 are advantageous.
- Minimum 20 years’ experience in project management, corporate operations, strategic execution, or business transformation.
- At least 8 to 15 years in senior project management roles (e.g., VP PMO, Enterprise PMO Director, Program Director, Transformation Director).
- Extensive experience managing projects in large enterprises, multinational companies, or other complex organizations.
- Proven background in leading enterprise-level transformation projects, digital initiatives, or large-scale investments.
