Role Overview
We are looking for a seasoned and visionary Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) to spearhead the global commercial functions, driving revenue acceleration, market growth, and enhanced customer engagement. This executive role encompasses leadership across sales, business development, strategic alliances, account management, marketing, and go-to-market strategies. The perfect candidate will possess vast experience within life sciences, SaaS platform sales, CRO/service-based models, and managing enterprise-level clients, playing a pivotal role in scaling the company and solidifying its industry leadership.
Primary Responsibilities
- Formulate and implement a global commercial strategy consistent with corporate growth goals.
- Lead efforts to increase annual revenue, profitability, and expand market reach.
- Discover new market avenues, build strategic partnerships, and cultivate expansion channels.
- Create and refine scalable go-to-market frameworks for products, platforms, and services.
- Oversee global sales and business development teams handling enterprise accounts and strategic sectors.
- Set sales targets, KPIs, establish forecasting protocols, and manage sales pipelines.
- Drive sales strategies targeting pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device customers.
- Enhance and deepen relationships within key strategic accounts to maximize revenue.
- Cultivate executive-level connections with clients, partners, and industry stakeholders.
- Represent the company at conferences, client meetings, and strategic industry forums.
- Monitor and evaluate market trends, competition, and evolving customer needs.
- Ensure excellent customer satisfaction and promote strong client retention rates.
- Collaborate with marketing leadership to boost brand visibility and positioning.
- Support creation of thought leadership content, industry messaging, and commercial campaigns.
- Align product and service positioning in line with market and customer demands.
- Forge and manage strategic alliances with technology vendors, OEMs, consulting firms, and other industry partners.
- Drive co-selling initiatives and channel partnership opportunities.
- Expand and nurture ecosystem relationships to foster growth and innovation.
- Enhance commercial operations, improve reporting accuracy, forecasting, and scalability.
- Provide regular business insights and strategic guidance to executive leadership and the Board.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree mandatory; advanced degrees such as MBA highly desirable.
- Minimum of 20 years in ascending commercial leadership roles within life sciences, SaaS, CRO, or consultancy sectors.
- Proven record of generating enterprise sales growth and leading commercial scaling efforts.
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical and medical device industry operations, including clinical, regulatory, quality, medical affairs, and pharmacovigilance domains.
- Experience in managing strategic accounts and handling complex, global sales cycles.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, negotiation abilities, and executive presence.
- Previous collaboration with top 20 pharma and large global enterprise customers considered a plus.
