About the Role
Join SHEIN in an integral position based in Singapore, helping to implement government relations strategies across the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region for a prominent cross-border e-commerce company. This role requires close collaboration across various departments and frequent travel to support government engagements and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and interpret policy, regulatory, political, and geopolitical changes in key markets to evaluate their impact on business operations.
- Assist in executing global and regional government relations plans targeting major APAC countries.
- Coordinate government relations initiatives that involve Legal, Compliance, Sustainability, PR, Finance, Tax, Logistics, and Operational teams.
- Conduct targeted research on regulations affecting cross-border e-commerce themes such as digital platforms, trade, consumer protection, data privacy, AI, compliance, customs, taxation, sustainability, and platform governance.
- Draft policy summaries, stakeholder analyses, government engagement content, internal updates, meeting notes, and briefing materials for executives.
- Facilitate dialogue with government bodies, industry groups, chambers of commerce, think tanks, and external partners.
- Manage government relations projects to ensure timely progress, follow-ups, and delivery across multiple markets.
- Develop and refine internal processes for information exchange, issue escalation, project oversight, and stakeholder collaboration within the GR function.
- Travel extensively throughout APAC to support engagement with governments, conduct market research, and foster local coordination efforts.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in International Relations, Political Science, Global Studies, Law, Economics, Communications, Media, Journalism, or related disciplines.
- Between 3 and 5 years of professional experience in corporate affairs, public policy, government relations, or corporate communications/public relations.
- Proven capability in policy research, regulatory analysis, and/or developing and implementing external communication campaigns.
- Established network and familiarity with regulatory landscapes across the APAC region.
- Demonstrated ability to address complex challenges and achieve results with high standards.
- Strong motivation to convert policy and regulatory interactions into meaningful business advantages.
- Excellent analytical, written and verbal presentation, and project management expertise.
- Proficiency in English and Chinese languages.
- Outstanding interpersonal and collaboration skills.
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently within the APAC region.
- Exceptional multitasking capabilities and detail orientation in a fast-moving and evolving work environment.
