This position is part of LinkedIn's Social, Creator & Partnerships team, a group focused on generating measurable marketing impact via strategic partnerships, collaboration with creators, and management of the company's social media presence. Their work integrates brand strategy, content creation, and distribution to enhance social relevance, reach, and outcomes.
The Senior Social Strategist will operate within the core strategy team based in either San Francisco Bay Area or New York City and engage in a hybrid work model combining remote and onsite responsibilities. This role addresses evolving audience behaviors across various social and discovery platforms including YouTube, Reddit, AI-driven search, and in-platform search, helping LinkedIn enhance its authority and business impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop social-first strategies, detailed briefs, and campaigns aligned with audience insights and business goals.
- Analyze data from social listening, research, performance metrics, and platform trends to craft actionable recommendations and creative guidance.
- Drive the future of effective social strategies on LinkedIn’s owned and emerging discovery platforms.
- Leverage strong expertise across platforms such as LinkedIn, YouTube, Reddit, TikTok, and Instagram to position LinkedIn distinctively in cultural and creator moments.
- Evaluate and enhance creative content from various partners to ensure strategic alignment and platform-native appeal.
- Lead initiatives end-to-end, including strategy formulation, briefing, execution oversight, optimization, and outcome synthesis.
- Manage multiple priorities with sound judgment, independently advancing projects and resolving challenges.
- Identify and address gaps and opportunities to improve team outputs and impact.
- Utilize social data and insights to adjust strategies, optimize content and determine scalability or cessation of efforts.
- Set success metrics exceeding engagement to clearly reflect business impact.
- Regularly communicate findings and strategic progress to leadership and partners for transparency and informed decisions.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with multiple internal teams ensuring cohesive planning and implementation.
- Exercise influence across stakeholders through effective, purposeful communication amidst complex organizational structures.
- Create and refine scalable playbooks, templates, and frameworks to boost quality and efficiency of social strategies over time.
- Keep abreast of and share emerging trends and insights to maintain a cutting-edge social content approach.
Qualifications
- Minimum of seven years' experience in social media strategy, digital content strategy, audience growth, or related marketing fields.
- Proven success managing comprehensive multi-platform social campaigns from insight to delivery and evaluation.
- Skilled in interpreting social listening and performance data to shape effective content strategies.
- Experience crafting strategic briefs and content direction based on research and audience insights across B2B and/or consumer sectors.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Strong knowledge of various social platforms including LinkedIn, YouTube, Reddit, TikTok, Instagram, and emerging media with an understanding of organic content dynamics.
- Excellence in writing and briefing, converting complex information into clear strategic guidance.
- Insight into social search and AI/ML discovery behaviors that impact audience engagement.
- Familiarity with AI tools enhancing strategy, research, content creation, and productivity.
- Experience within tech, digital media, streaming, or content-driven companies linking social strategy to business results.
- Demonstrated ability to work in complex, matrixed environments with diverse stakeholders and priorities.
- Exceptional communication skills enabling influence without direct authority.
- Balance of strategic vision and hands-on execution capability.
- History of developing frameworks and systems that enhance quality and scalability of social work.
Compensation & Benefits
The salary range for this position spans from $125,000 to $195,000 annually, dependent on skills, experience, location, and certifications. The overall compensation may include bonuses, stock options, benefits, and other incentives. LinkedIn is dedicated to fair and equitable pay practices.
