Senior Safety Specialist

About the Role

Join Pinterest's Trust & Safety Enforcement Operations as a Senior Safety Specialist focused on Sexualized Harms. You will collaborate with teams spanning Legal, Product, Engineering, and Data Science to protect all users, especially minors. This role demands critical thinking and informed judgment to enforce policies, remove harmful content, and ensure compliance with regulations internationally.

Responsibilities

• Examine sensitive content and escalations involving sexualized harms such as child sexual exploitation, inappropriate sexual content by age, and adult content from multiple sources to enable fast and compliant content removal.
• Handle complex child safety violations and Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) investigations through partnership with various internal teams and perform open-source research to identify malicious actors and associated risks.
• Lead resolution efforts for high-priority cases related to sexualized harms, apply sound decision-making, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to determine appropriate outcomes amid ambiguity.
• Function as a subject matter expert on policies regarding sexualized harms, ensuring consistent, informed enforcement interpretations for complex situations.
• Manage targeted projects to enhance prevention, detection, and response capabilities for sexualized harms, including scoping, progress tracking, and result dissemination.
• Analyze trends in sexualized harm incidents and workflow metrics to identify gaps and recommend actionable improvements to partners.
• Contribute to cultivating a resilient, high-performing team culture by sharing expertise and supporting quality assurance processes.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of online sexualized harms with specialization in child safety and exploitation, along with familiarity handling adult and age-inappropriate content.
• Proven ability to manage urgent, high-risk escalations decisively and document clear rationale and subsequent actions.
• Experience overseeing operational projects end-to-end, including defining objectives, partnering across teams, and ensuring implementation.
• Skilled in delivering analytical insights to senior stakeholders and external collaborators by translating complex investigations into clear, actionable points.
• Experience leveraging AI-driven tools, such as language models or classifiers, to increase operational efficiency and impact.
• Exceptional communication skills, adept at cross-functional collaboration and engaging confidently with organizational leadership.
• Minimum four years in content moderation, trust & safety, investigations, or related disciplines.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience.

Additional Information

• This position is located in Dublin and requires commuting to the office 1–2 times monthly for collaboration.
• Relocation assistance is not provided.
• The salary range for this role is between €69,083 and €120,895 EUR annually, with eligibility for equity participation.
