Role Overview

The Environmental Health & Safety Officer plays a critical role in implementing and overseeing health, safety, and environmental standards within the organization. This position ensures adherence to Abu Dhabi regulations and company policies by conducting inspections, risk evaluations, incident analyses, and safety training to foster a safe workplace.

Key Duties

• Oversee workplace practices related to health, safety, and environmental compliance with Abu Dhabi laws and internal standards.
• Perform routine inspections, risk assessments, incident inquiries, and suggest appropriate corrective solutions.
• Design and deliver health and safety training sessions, toolbox talks, and awareness initiatives for staff.
• Maintain comprehensive safety documentation, including permits, reports, and records for audits and regulatory purposes.
• Coordinate emergency response processes and collaborate with relevant teams to ensure safety adherence.
• Conduct audits and prepare clear incident investigation reports.

Candidate Profile

• In-depth knowledge of local authority inspections and compliance requirements related to Environmental Health & Safety within Abu Dhabi.
• Proficient understanding of risk management, incident investigation methods, and emergency response protocols.
• Able to identify potential hazards and implement effective prevention and corrective measures.
• Demonstrates both independent working capability and cross-departmental teamwork.
• Strong dedication to promoting workplace safety, regulatory compliance, and ongoing improvement.
• Possesses a Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Must have NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC).
• Certification in First Aid, Fire Safety, or Emergency Response is desirable.
• Knowledge of ADOSH framework and UAE labor safety regulations is highly advantageous.
• Minimum 3 to 5 years’ experience in Environment, Health & Safety roles, preferably within hospitality, facilities management, or corporate sectors in the UAE.
