Position Overview
The Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Procurement for Southeast Asia and Australasia (SEAA) is a senior leadership role focused on strategizing and executing procurement initiatives across the region. Reporting directly to the Regional Vice President, this position ensures alignment of procurement activities with the broader strategic objectives of the Group.
Key Responsibilities
- Formulate, maintain, and harmonize regional procurement policies alongside the Regional VP, ensuring smooth implementation of Group contracts in cooperation with Group Procurement.
- Guarantee adherence to procurement guidelines, including the three-quotation rule, justify exceptions where necessary, and devise preventive measures.
- Act as a vital business partner to regional and property leaders by engaging actively in operational discussions, challenging non-standard purchasing specifications, and promoting value-driven decisions.
- Lead category-based strategic sourcing and promote consolidation initiatives within SEAA and beyond to unlock significant cost savings based on market insights.
- Provide mentorship and leadership to Regional and Area Directors to meet strategic procurement goals.
- Design and execute long-term supply chain risk reduction strategies.
- Cultivate supplier innovation by encouraging strategic supplier relationship management that introduces new value-adding vendors to the group.
Candidate Profile and Qualifications
- Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain Management, or Audit/Assurance.
- Bring a minimum of 12 years of experience in procurement or finance with demonstrated regional leadership capabilities.
- Experience using major procurement systems such as Oracle, SAP, or Ariba is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of data visualization and analytics tools like Tableau is beneficial to enhance performance tracking and reporting.
- Exhibit strong skills in leadership, strategic planning, negotiation, managing stakeholders, and financial understanding.
- Showcase analytical acumen, critical thinking, effective stakeholder engagement, negotiation expertise, and the ability to work independently with integrity and sound judgment.
Compensation
