Role Overview

The Senior Product Manager will lead product vision and delivery for Nitrogen’s insurance, institutional, and ecosystem product lines. This role demands deep knowledge of financial planning domains and the capability to simplify intricate concepts into intuitive products that advisors and clients appreciate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain the product vision and roadmap for insurance, institutional, and ecosystem products.
  • Manage full product lifecycle from ideation and prioritization through development, market launch, and iterative improvements.
  • Maintain extensive expertise in relevant financial planning areas to establish trust with advisors, partners, and media.
  • Convert complex financial planning topics into user-friendly product interfaces for advisors and clients.
  • Serve as an external domain expert through customer engagement, conferences, podcasts, and media appearances.
  • Develop continuous feedback channels with customers, prospects, and experts to guide product strategy.
  • Lead and mentor Product Owners to ensure quality execution and professional growth.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Design, and Go-to-Market teams to ensure timely and successful product releases.
  • Use data-driven approaches to prioritize initiatives and transparently communicate decisions across the organization.
  • Stay ahead of regulatory, tax, and insurance industry developments impacting product roadmaps.
  • Define key success metrics and drive ongoing enhancements using performance analytics.
  • Align product plans with broader corporate strategies and financial goals.

Qualifications

  • In-depth knowledge of insurance product manufacturing, distribution, and compensation models including carrier economics and channels.
  • Expertise in annuities and retirement income solutions.
  • Comprehensive understanding of life insurance design, underwriting processes, and advisor applications.
  • Familiarity with tax, estate, and legacy planning, with ability to integrate estate and wealth transfer considerations into product strategies. CFP or related credentials are a plus but not mandatory.
  • Experience with financial advisor operations, either through personal practice, WealthTech roles, or partnerships with distribution and advisor-facing teams is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication capabilities in written, verbal, and external presentations aimed at a broad financial audience.
  • Proven skill in translating complex financial concepts into simple, intuitive product experiences.
  • Keen insight into customer and market dynamics with active management of feedback loops to anticipate shifts.
  • Strong product strategy formulation, roadmapping, and prioritization skills including communicating trade-offs effectively.
  • Demonstrated success in delivering products from concept through launch and iterative phases in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Leadership experience in managing product teams, setting standards, and fostering professional development.
  • Commitment to continual learning about industry updates, regulations, and best practices with a practitioner’s mindset.

Compensation and Benefits

The expected salary range for this position is $150,000 to $170,000 annually, plus performance-based bonuses. Compensation may vary based on experience.
