The Healthcare Infrastructure Projects Division is a cross-functional team made up of medical planners, architects, engineers, project managers, quantity surveyors, and asset management specialists. The team supports the planning and delivery of public healthcare infrastructure such as regional and community hospitals, specialist centres, polyclinics, and nursing homes.

Role summary

This role calls for mechanical and electrical engineering expertise to support healthcare facility development projects. The position involves helping project teams ensure appropriate MEP provision, identifying and evaluating new technologies, contributing to a technical resource library, and providing technical support during development and construction. Site-based support may also be required.

Responsibilities

• Track new and emerging MEP and building services technologies that may be suitable for healthcare facility projects.
• Engage with vendors and professional practitioners to stay current on market trends, innovations, and system developments.
• Take part in study visits, seminars, and conferences relevant to the field.
• Regularly reassess MEP benchmarks to make sure they remain current and useful.
• Review and standardise MEP design approaches for healthcare developments.
• Examine MEP-related procurement documents prepared by project teams.
• Review design documentation connected to MEP works for individual development projects.
• Support project teams in evaluating the quality and intent of MEP systems used in project delivery.
• Attend design meetings and technical discussions related to MEP works.
• Carry out periodic site inspections for MEP matters with project teams.
• Support the review of testing and commissioning procedures for MEP infrastructure systems.
• Attend meetings related to testing and commissioning for development projects.
• Witness factory acceptance tests, site acceptance tests, testing and commissioning activities, and integrated system scenario tests for major plant and systems.
• Keep up to date with relevant building regulations, authority codes, Singapore Standards, international standards, and other technical requirements for healthcare projects.
• Attend training, seminars, and courses organised by professional bodies and authorities.
• Participate in activities organised by relevant professional organisations and authorities such as ASHRAE, IES, PEB, BCA, NEA, PUB, SCDF, and HTM.

Requirements

• A recognised engineering degree in Mechanical discipline is preferred.
• Candidates without a recognised degree may still be considered if they hold a technical diploma and have more than 12 years of relevant design experience.
• At least 7 years of experience in the design and construction of building mechanical and electrical systems, with preference for mechanical experience.
• Ability to guide and lead a small team of engineers.
• A mature, self-driven approach to work.
• Strong initiative and a solid understanding of engineering design and building MEP requirements.
