Senior Manager Planning & Logistics

Role overview

This position is responsible for managing procurement and logistics for packaging materials across roughly 30 plants, including both company-owned and contract locations. The role covers sourcing, purchasing, vendor management, contract negotiation, and ensuring that packaging material reaches plants across India on time and in the right quantities. It is a key role for controlling costs, keeping supplies uninterrupted, and improving the efficiency of the supply chain.

Procurement and sourcing responsibilities

• Prepare RFQs in line with the sourcing strategy so that materials are obtained at the most competitive price.
• Follow procurement rules and approval processes strictly to secure the best commercial outcome for the company.
• Build and execute an end-to-end sourcing approach for each auction cycle related to packaging material.
• Work closely with the global procurement team to close sourcing decisions within required timelines.
• Monitor market movements for critical input materials to identify cost drivers and negotiate better pricing.
• Allocate business volumes to vendors using the most cost-effective combination of suppliers.
• Maintain a material-wise dashboard to compare business allocation against contractual commitments.
• Keep coordination active between vendors and plants to address issues and ensure supply continuity.
• Manage the procure-to-pay process for every vendor and step in when exceptions or delays occur.
• Partner with legal and other internal teams to complete vendor contract approvals and sign-offs.
• Update rates, sources, and quotas in SAP according to approved documentation.
• Operate in accordance with organizational policies and compliance requirements at all times.
• Prepare annual budgets and keep pricing aligned with budget targets.
• Review production plans regularly and share forecasts with vendors so they can plan raw material inventory effectively.
• Support inbound logistics planning for packaging material movement with internal stakeholders.
• Identify and onboard new vendors to strengthen the supplier base and meet capacity needs.
