Role Overview

The position of Senior Manager, Healthcare Compliance (HCC) for the Middle East acts as the primary compliance authority for DePuy Synthes' Orthopedics operations across multiple Middle Eastern countries. This role requires strategic and operational leadership to ensure adherence to healthcare laws, company policies, and ethical standards. The Senior Manager will collaborate extensively with legal, regional and global compliance teams, business heads, and functional partners to mitigate risks and enable compliant growth in a complex regulatory environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead healthcare compliance efforts across Middle East markets as the designated Compliance Officer.
• Design and implement compliance strategies closely aligned with global directives and regional business objectives.
• Identify and manage compliance risks related to business activities, including commercial practices, promotional initiatives, and professional education.
• Offer proactive, practical counseling to business leaders on compliance matters and ethical conduct.
• Collaborate across functions to embed compliance controls in business processes and marketing approaches.
• Oversee essential compliance programs such as training, monitoring, risk assessments, and handling compliance issues regionally.
• Support investigations, audits, and regulatory interactions partnering with Legal and other stakeholders.
• Keep abreast of regulatory updates and emerging compliance risks within the Middle East healthcare sector.
• Report compliance risk evaluations and advise senior leadership on mitigation approaches.
• Promote a culture of integrity, accountability, and openness to reporting concerns within the organization.

Qualifications and Experience

• A Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business, Compliance, Finance, Healthcare Administration, or related disciplines is mandatory.
• Advanced degrees or certifications in Compliance, Risk Management, Legal, or Ethics are advantageous.
• 8 to 10 years of progressive experience in healthcare compliance, risk, legal affairs, audit, or related fields, ideally within pharmaceutical, medical devices, or life sciences sectors.
• Proven expertise in navigating multi-country compliance frameworks and leading complex compliance programs.
• Strong analytical and decision-making abilities with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience working in multicultural, matrix organizations and proven capability to drive change.
• Fluent in English; Arabic language skills are preferred.

Additional Information

• Willingness to travel up to 20-30% within the Middle East region.
• Familiarity with compliance monitoring, investigations, remediation, and auditing processes.
• The current organizational structure anticipates separation of the Orthopedics business into DePuy Synthes within 18-24 months, subject to regulatory and consultation approvals.
