Job description

About the Role

REE Medical is looking for a senior content and brand leader to shape its market presence, protect its reputation, and build trust with veterans. This position is responsible for guiding the company’s brand story, tone of voice, visual identity, and public perception across all major touchpoints, including social channels, owned media, influencer collaborations, event materials, consultation content, and messaging that influences what veterans share about the company.

The role also involves setting and maintaining brand standards, creating a content structure that supports both lead generation and customer education, and overseeing reputation work in a category where trust, competitive defense, and proactive advocacy are all critical. The ideal hire will bring strong senior-level brand ownership, the ability to manage a small team and agency partners, experience working in regulated and closely scrutinized environments, an understanding of competitive analysis and veteran-focused research, and genuine respect for the veteran community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take full ownership of brand management, including positioning, tone of voice, visual identity, and governance of brand standards across every customer and marketing channel.
  • Direct agency partners on brand alignment, editorial planning, and content execution, while building a publishing calendar tied to marketing campaigns, veteran-related moments, and lead-generation goals.
  • Work with marketing colleagues on multi-channel content such as SEO pages, landing pages, lifecycle email, collateral, and other assets, while supporting internal groups like Partnership and Outreach to keep messaging consistent and performance-focused.
  • Strengthen and evolve brand guidelines, including visual rules, voice and tone documentation, style guidance, and the asset library, so internal teams, external partners, and creators represent veteran services accurately and consistently.
  • Perform market research to identify audience needs, market shifts, and competitor activity, using social insights as part of the analysis.
  • Oversee internal and external creative resources, ensuring priorities are clear and output meets quality and performance expectations.
  • Lead reputation management efforts, including review programs, agency coordination, competitive reputation defense, and proactive advocacy that highlights REE Medical’s ethics and outcomes.
  • Maintain deep customer and community sensitivity by ensuring all published content is culturally appropriate, accurate to veteran experience, and respectful of military service and VA disability claim realities.
  • Create and deliver performance reports for the SVP of Marketing as needed and support board-level marketing updates and quarterly strategy reviews.
  • Assist with crisis and sensitive communications, including responses related to VA-adjacent regulatory changes, competitor issues, and reputation events, while partnering with Legal, Compliance, Communications, and the SVP of Marketing on messaging.
  • Stay informed on policy and market developments such as the PACT Act, VA changes, and competitor activity that may affect the category.
  • Lead by example through ethical, rigorous, and creative work, while mentoring teammates and contributing to the broader marketing organization as it scales.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, English, or a similar discipline; equivalent professional experience may be accepted.
  • At least 7 years of experience in brand marketing, content marketing, or communications, with direct responsibility for brand ownership, content programs, and creative output.
  • Demonstrated success managing creative teams such as designers, social media specialists, content creators, or video teams, with measurable improvements in brand health and demand generation.
  • Background in reputation management or brand defense, especially in regulated, trust-sensitive, or closely scrutinized industries.
  • Experience building content programs across the full lifecycle, from awareness through retention, with measurable impact on engagement, demand generation, and brand health.
  • Strong analytical ability and hands-on experience using tools for content performance measurement, including web analytics, social listening, brand tracking, and reputation monitoring.
  • A strong operator mindset: able to think strategically while also executing directly, working independently, taking ownership, and solving problems proactively.
  • Advanced writing and editing ability, including the skill to review technical, regulatory, and sensitive content for accuracy, compliance, and voice consistency.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present strategy, content plans, and performance results to senior leaders.
  • Experience in regulated, compliance-heavy, or healthcare-adjacent industries such as financial services, legal services, telehealth, behavioral health, or veteran-serving organizations is preferred.
  • Understanding of the veteran community is a strong advantage, and veteran or military-affiliated candidates are especially encouraged to apply.

Benefits and Perks

  • Annual pay range of $120,000 to $150,000, based on experience.
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage, plus company-paid life insurance.
  • Retirement savings plan with employer matching.
  • Vacation, sick leave, and paid holidays.
  • Ongoing learning and development support.
  • Growth opportunities within the company.
  • Flexible scheduling.
  • Remote-first work setup, with company-wide conferences held once a year.
  • Employee assistance support for personal and family well-being.
  • Employee discounts on products and services through Insperity.
  • Recognition initiatives for strong performance.
  • Company-sponsored social events and activities.
  • Opportunity to travel twice per year for the annual company conference and IT team onsite meeting, with possible additional leadership meetings.
