About Thélios

Thélios was created by LVMH, the global luxury leader, to build and expand a strong presence in eyewear. The company designs, manufactures, and distributes sunglasses and optical frames for a distinguished roster of Maisons, including Dior, Fendi, Celine, Givenchy, Loewe, Stella McCartney, Kenzo, Berluti, Bulgari, Tag Heuer, and Fred. Thélios also owns two in-house brands: Barton Perreira and Vuarnet.

Role Overview

Thélios is hiring a commercially minded Senior Manager, Commercial Strategy & Business Development to help drive growth across the Americas. The role focuses on improving distribution strategy, uncovering new business opportunities, and making sure Maison standards are consistently delivered across the region’s priority channels and markets.

This person will work closely with Sales, Brand Management, Visual Merchandising, Supply Chain, and regional leaders to review distribution health, spot whitespace, support key account growth, and strengthen the in-store expression of the brand.

Distribution Strategy & Commercial Performance

  • Assess the Americas distribution network and ensure it aligns with Maison standards, selective distribution principles, and business goals.
  • Review the active door base by brand, channel, region, and account, including store openings, closures, segmentation, and performance trends.
  • Track door-level results across sell-in, sell-out, assortment, replenishment, and the execution of new collections.
  • Spot distribution gaps, weak markets, and underperforming doors, then recommend actions to improve productivity and brand strength.
  • Work with Sales leadership on planning at the channel, regional, and district levels, including budget, forecast, and reforecast cycles.
  • Shape recommendations on door priority, account segmentation, assortment mix, and where investment should be concentrated.
  • Provide senior leaders with analysis, insights, and decision-support recommendations.
  • Study the competitive landscape for luxury eyewear, including retail setting, pricing, assortment, visibility, and distribution patterns.
  • Act as the Americas market specialist, sharing local market realities, opportunities, and needs with HQ and Brand Management.

Business Development & Strategic Growth

  • Create growth plans for specific accounts and channels that balance commercial potential with Maison positioning and selective distribution standards.
  • Identify and assess new business opportunities across North American channels.
  • Partner with Sales and leadership to evaluate target doors, expansion possibilities, and commercial partnerships.
  • Prepare business cases for strategic initiatives, including market opportunity, brand alignment, operational practicality, investment needs, and ROI.
  • Support initiatives that elevate the brand, improve client engagement, increase assortment productivity, and build long-term account value.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to improve fill rate, best-seller penetration, replenishment, and overall door productivity.
  • Contribute to strategic buying meetings, trade shows, and key account presentations with business insights and growth recommendations.
  • Follow and report on business development projects to ensure ownership, execution, and measurable results.

Visual Merchandising & In-Store Execution

  • Make sure visual merchandising across accounts follows Maison standards and supports strong in-store presentation.
  • Work with Sales and Trade Marketing to secure the best possible brand placement in stores.
  • Review the quality and consistency of displays, fixtures, assortment presentation, and seasonal updates.
  • Prioritize permanent fixture and visibility opportunities based on store performance, brand relevance, account potential, and return on investment.
  • Share field feedback with HQ and local leadership on VM challenges, market requirements, and opportunities to improve impact.

Brand, Product & Market Feedback

  • Coordinate with the Paris Brand Management team on Americas needs related to assortment, styling, color, pricing, and competitive positioning.
  • Contribute to commercial briefings by translating regional needs into clear, actionable insights.
  • Partner with Supply Chain and Sales on launch quantities, style ranking, inventory investment, and replenishment for core best-selling SKUs.
  • Review product performance by brand, account, channel, and region to uncover opportunities and assortment gaps.
  • Ensure regional recommendations are backed by market data, customer input, competitive intelligence, and business performance.

Profile

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Fashion Merchandising, or a related discipline, along with at least 5 years of experience in Brand Management or Merchandising/Buying within fashion, luxury, or consumer goods. They should be able to quickly identify opportunities, research practical solutions, and implement new processes to address them.

Strong communication, influence, and presentation skills are essential, as is the ability to solve complex issues that may involve multiple departments. Advanced computer skills, especially in Microsoft Office tools such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook, are required. The role also calls for strong organization, the ability to manage complex projects, and comfort handling multiple priorities at once.

Compensation & Benefits

The hiring range for this role is $120,000 to $140,000 per year. Actual compensation will depend on the candidate’s relevant experience and skills. In addition to base pay, there is an opportunity to earn performance-based incentives, which may significantly increase total earnings.
