Job Summary

The role is responsible for managing all balance sheet management activities aligned with the Group's strategic direction, risk appetite, regulatory standards, and internal policies.

Main Responsibilities

  • Ensure adherence to approved budgets, policies, and procedures related to balance sheet management functions.
  • Implement key performance indicators and industry best practices defined for the Senior Manager, Balance Sheet Management position.
  • Drive cost efficiency measures, minimizing waste while maximizing benefits for the bank.
  • Operate within the designated authority limits delegated for this role.
  • Foster effective collaboration with related departments to accomplish balance sheet management objectives.
  • Deliver timely and accurate information to internal and external auditors, compliance teams, and Group Risk as required.
  • Address customer inquiries regarding bank products and facilitate appropriate solutions.
  • Maintain compliance with service level agreements to enhance turnaround times for internal processes.
  • Perform all activities following the department's strategies and policies, including handling buy/sell deals, compiling management information systems data related to profitability and revenue, and ensuring adherence to Board-approved limits.
  • Coordinate with Treasury Operations to ensure prompt transaction processing.
  • Prepare reports under supervision and monitor financial gap positions within delegated limits.
  • Support the structuring of balance sheet management products as directed.
  • Commit to ongoing professional development and stay updated on relevant industry developments.
  • Comply with all legal, regulatory, and internal compliance policies, such as Anti-Money Laundering, Sanctions, Data Protection, Fraud Control, Whistleblowing, and Insider Dealing policies.
  • Execute responsibilities in line with the Three Lines of Defence risk management framework and uphold Conduct Risk policies to ensure positive client outcomes.
  • Contribute to operational risk management activities including risk and control self-assessments, key risk indicators, and incident management.
  • Maintain knowledge and qualifications necessary for the role, including completing all mandatory trainings and attending required seminars.
  • Safeguard confidential customer and internal information, sharing it only with authorized parties such as senior management, audit, compliance, and regulatory authorities.
  • Uphold professional standards that reinforce QNB's reputation and leadership in the market.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Banking, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • At least eight years of experience in an active dealing room environment, ideally within the Gulf region.
  • Fluency in English with strong oral and written communication skills; Arabic language skills are advantageous.
  • Comprehensive understanding of various derivatives and interest rate products.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of currency hedging techniques relevant to local markets.
  • Strong analytical abilities and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with local laws, regulatory frameworks, and customary practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the capability to perform effectively under market-related pressures.
