About the Role
Maynooth University invites applications for the position of Senior Library Assistant within the Collections and Digital Services Department, specifically focused on Special Collections and Archives. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the Special Collections and Archives Manager as a key member of a specialist team dedicated to preserving, managing, and enhancing access to the Library's unique and rare materials.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the preservation and care of rare books, manuscripts, and archival documents.
- Manage documentation and maintain accurate records for the collections.
- Provide support for teaching and learning activities utilizing Special Collections.
- Assist in organizing exhibitions, outreach initiatives, and programs aimed at public engagement.
- Contribute actively to the advancement and promotion of the Special Collections.

The role requires an individual who can operate independently, effectively managing and prioritizing daily responsibilities to meet objectives and deadlines. Salary and Appointment Details
The salary range for the Senior Library Assistant (2026 scale) is between €46,216 and €56,092 per annum, covering seven pay points. Appointment terms will adhere to public sector pay guidelines.
