About the Role and University
Maynooth University is dedicated to integrating outstanding research and scholarship with excellent education. We are looking for a committed academic to join our dynamic Department of Psychology as an Assistant Professor or Lecturer. This role involves contributing to the teaching of foundational and specialized psychology topics across undergraduate and postgraduate programs, including collaborations with the BSc General Nursing and BSc Sports Science and Health courses when needed.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality instruction in core and specialized psychology subjects across different academic levels.
- Supervise research interns and student projects.
- Maintain an active research profile, producing internationally recognized scholarly publications.
- Lead research initiatives associated with the university's Health and Wellbeing strategic research area.
Research Focus

Terms and Conditions
- The appointment will comply with public sector pay guidelines.
- Salary bands for 2026 are as follows: Assistant Professor / Lecturer: €66,055 – €104,600 per annum (7 points); Assistant Lecturer: €43,025 – €73,445 per annum (14 points).
- The position is governed by the university statutes.
