About the Role
The Ministry of Law is dedicated to ensuring a robust legal framework, effective intellectual property protections, a sound insolvency system, and efficient land resource management to fulfill national objectives. Within the Individual Insolvency and Debt Repayment Scheme Division (IIDRSD) of the Insolvency & Public Trustee's Office (IPTO), the appointed Senior Executive will manage adjudication related to creditor claims in Debt Repayment Scheme (DRS) cases.
Key Responsibilities
- Review validity of creditor claims in accordance with applicable legislation and standard operating procedures.
- Communicate with debtors and creditors, including their legal representatives, to obtain necessary documentation and information supporting claims filed.
- Resolve disputes arising from claim adjudication between creditors and debtors.
- Coordinate with management and the legal division for dispute resolution and claim assessment processes.
- Handle communication and processing of statutory notices such as claim rejection notices within prescribed timelines.
- Evaluate appeals lodged by creditors against claim rejections, collaborating with the legal division to ensure timely resolution.
- Complete preliminary adjudications to decide on debtor eligibility for the DRS within the court-mandated timeframes.
Candidate Requirements
- Educational background preferably in Accountancy, Finance, Economics, Business Administration or Law.
- Work experience ranging from 1 to 2 years is essential.
- Proficient literacy and numeracy abilities.
- Comfortable analyzing numerical data and meticulous in handling legal documents such as court judgments and orders.
- Competency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Detail-oriented with the capacity to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Additional Information
The selected candidate will be engaged on an 11-month non-renewable contractual basis, working onsite in Singapore.
