About the Role
NTU International is preparing a proposal for the European Union-funded project "Technical Assistance to the Energy Transition Support Program in Benin (ATE)". The program aims to accelerate Benin's energy transition, including reducing greenhouse gas emissions as targeted by its Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC). This technical assistance will support the implementation of the ATE program, sectoral policy dialogue, energy sector governance, financing mechanisms, energy access, energy efficiency, and renewable energy development.
NTU International is seeking a Senior Expert in the Energy Sector to support the technical, institutional, and operational monitoring of the program, contribute to deliverables preparation, track indicators, and facilitate coordination with beneficiaries and energy sector stakeholders.
Main Responsibilities
- Prepare periodic monitoring deliverables for the program.
- Draft meeting reports with key stakeholders.
- Maintain and update the program's logical frameworks.
- Mobilize non-senior experts and coordinate their missions with beneficiaries.
- Collect data for program indicator monitoring.
- Monitor and evaluate the impacts of projects implemented under the program.
Qualifications and Skills
- Master’s degree (Bac+5) or equivalent in electrical engineering or mechanical engineering.
- Proficient in computer applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software (PowerPoint).
Professional Experience
- Minimum 12 years of professional experience in West Africa's electricity sector, ideally including some experience in Benin.
- At least 5 years of experience with energy policy in West Africa, with preference for work in Benin and neighboring countries.
- Strong background in renewable energy development and promotion of energy efficiency in the West African context.
- Sound knowledge of institutional and regulatory framework developments in the energy sector in West Africa, with specific understanding of Benin's context desirable.
Language Requirements
Fluent oral and written communication skills in French are mandatory.
