Role Overview
As the Sr. Director of Product Management for Intake, Orchestration & Platform at Coupa, you will spearhead the vision, planning, and delivery of two crucial areas: the next-gen business process automation that acts as Coupa's initial interface and the core platform features underpinning the entire suite. You will bridge enterprise workflows, AI-driven automation, platform architecture, and user experiences, representing customer needs and amplifying your team's impact. Your leadership will shape how Coupa processes complex intake requests, coordinates cross-team workflows, integrates diverse technology stacks, and provides scalable platform services that foster innovation across products. Leading and cultivating a team of Product Managers, you will set high standards in product development while empowering domain ownership. Success in this role requires a fusion of strategic outlook, technical and business expertise, people leadership, and a passion for turning vision into action. Frequent engagement with customers and executives to identify operational challenges and create innovative automated solutions is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and lead the strategic direction and roadmap for Intake & Orchestration procurement processes and the fundamental platform capabilities, ensuring alignment with company goals and AI-driven product strategies.
- Mentor and expand a team of Product Managers focused on Intake & Orchestration and Platform, nurturing a culture centered on customer focus, data-driven insights, and product excellence.
- Acquire deep understanding of orchestration and platform functions, including intake handling, workflow automation, integration platforms (iPaaS), APIs, extensibility, and shared platform services spanning spend management domains.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional leaders in Engineering, UX, AI research, and Architecture to deliver user-friendly front door experiences and robust, scalable platform foundations.
- Promote capabilities that enable business users to input plain-language requests automatically routed and fulfilled across the organization through standard orchestration and platform services.
- Engage with customers, prospects, industry analysts, and executives to validate strategies, promote the roadmap, and serve as the product vision ambassador during sales and client interactions.
- Coordinate with other product leaders to guarantee seamless integration and alignment across Coupa solutions, advocating for platform-centric approaches and reusable orchestration patterns.
- Identify and track performance indicators (such as adoption, user engagement, Net Promoter Score, and revenue impact) balancing innovation with management of technical debt and engineering quality.
Required Qualifications
- 5 to 8+ years of experience in product management within SaaS or cloud-based companies, including over 3 years managing and developing product management teams.
- Demonstrable expertise in B2B workflow automation, integration platforms (iPaaS), enterprise intake/request processing, or platform product management involving APIs, extensibility, and shared services.
- Successful history of crafting and implementing platform strategies that serve multiple product lines, balancing the priorities of business users, developers, and partners.
- Strong understanding of contemporary automation and platform design principles such as no-code solutions, AI-native workflows, API orchestration, microservices, and multi-tenancy, coupled with a focus on exceptional usability.
- Hands-on leadership with proven ability to manage complex, data-intensive systems, transforming them into intuitive experiences accompanied by compelling product storytelling.
- Excellent communication skills and executive presence, capable of influencing senior leaders, aligning cross-functional teams, and external product representation.
- Proactive, collaborative approach with data-driven decision-making strengths in product management and prioritization.
- Competence in managing technical debt while fostering innovation and upholding rigorous engineering, security, and quality assurance standards.
