Role Overview
The Director of Strategic Partnerships position reports directly to the Head of Ads Business Development and is charged with developing strategies and frameworks for managing complex partnerships that drive revenue growth. This role is pivotal in establishing and nurturing executive-level relationships with top-tier data, measurement, and identity partners, and involves negotiating sophisticated agreements. The individual will oversee partnership performance, ensuring operational excellence, and continuously seek to broaden partnership scopes to align with Samsung Ads business objectives.
The position offers potential advancement into people management within one to two years and expects the individual to serve as a strategic thought leader from the onset. Candidates should be highly organized, detail-focused, adaptable, transparent, and adept at prioritizing independently in a dynamic environment. Familiarity with the AdTech data ecosystem and vendor landscape is essential. Success in this role requires being self-driven, solution-oriented, and capable of navigating complex internal structures. Strong skills in project management and cross-functional communication are also necessary.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage performance and outcomes of impactful partnerships.
- Develop overarching strategies for strategic partners by identifying gaps and sourcing appropriate solutions.
- Establish KPIs and performance frameworks that oversee key partnerships and lead strategic quarterly business reviews focused on growth.
- Maintain senior-level relationships with strategic partners to facilitate communication and growth opportunities.
- Work with leadership to analyze whether to build, buy, or partner, providing commercial rationale and data-supported recommendations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Over 10 years of experience in AdTech, with at least 6 years in Business Development, Corporate Development, or Strategic Partnerships, demonstrating a successful track record in deal execution.
- Expertise in negotiating and finalizing complex agreements, balancing business objectives with technical and legal considerations.
- Proven leadership in managing multifaceted projects across diverse teams and geographies.
- Strong analytical capabilities including prioritization, critical thinking, and hypothesis formulation; ability to model commercial outcomes and make informed partnership decisions based on data.
- Ability to comprehend technical aspects such as partner API or SDK integration; coding skills not required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; leadership and management experience preferred.
- Self-motivated and comfortable navigating a fast-moving work environment.
Compensation and Benefits
For candidates based in New York City, annual compensation ranges from $170,000 to $210,000, influenced by individual skills and experience as well as internal comparisons.
