Role Overview

The Senior Director of Marketing Operations will establish and lead the operational backbone of Milan's Marketing department. Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer and working closely with senior leadership, this role focuses on developing operating procedures, planning cycles, and aligning cross-functional goals to effectively advance marketing strategies from concept through execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and enhance systems that connect marketing strategies with execution across campaigns, launches, and initiatives.
• Implement planning routines, prioritization methods, and governance frameworks to maintain team alignment and consistent delivery.
• Create and manage a comprehensive marketing roadmap that adapts to evolving business objectives.
• Collaborate with the CMO to convert strategic priorities into coordinated execution plans.
• Lead operations for marketing leadership meetings, including planning sessions and off-sites, ensuring follow-through on key projects.
• Unite diverse stakeholders, clarify decision-making processes, and promote accountability across teams.
• Build, manage, and mentor the Marketing Operations team, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Work in partnership with Finance and FP&A to monitor budgets, handle purchase orders, invoices, and governance of investments.
• Continuously assess and refine marketing planning and execution processes.
• Join forces with analytics and marketing leaders to evaluate campaign performance and identify enhancements.
• Prepare executive-level presentations and strategic reports for senior leaders and stakeholders.
• Ensure marketing teams leverage data-driven insights to guide business decisions.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of 12 years in marketing operations, strategy, business operations, or related leadership in dynamic and fast-growing organizations.
• Track record of developing scalable operational processes and planning frameworks.
• Experienced in leading and nurturing high-performing teams.
• Strong ability to influence senior leadership and align complex initiatives across groups.
• Familiarity partnering with Finance on budgeting, forecasting, and investment management.
• Excellent communication abilities, including preparing presentations for executive audiences.
• Balance strategic vision with detailed operational execution skillfully.
• Preferred experience with project management tools like Asana or Jira.
• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or related discipline is required; PMP or similar certification is advantageous.
