Position Overview

The Senior Director and Head of Architecture will serve as the visionary leader shaping the long-term technical strategy of our global product offerings and AI platforms. This critical executive role balances intricate engineering management with strategic business goals. The position reports directly to the Head of Engineering and leads a team of Architects to advance our cloud-native ecosystem, embedding scalability, security, and advanced AI/ML functionalities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and drive the implementation of a forward-thinking, AI-focused architecture that underpins both core software services and sophisticated AI agent behaviors.
  • Define and enforce global architectural standards to ensure consistency, optimal component reuse, and alignment with long-term technology objectives.
  • Lead the design and governance of complex AI and data engineering systems, integrating these capabilities into a unified technological vision.
  • Champion customer-centric strategies by deeply understanding clientele and business needs to guide technology decisions that enhance customer success.
  • Manage and mentor a multidisciplinary team of architects, promoting engineering excellence and ongoing professional growth.
  • Establish security and compliance standards to safeguard software platforms and infrastructure against breaches and meet regulatory requirements.
  • Guide technical teams and business stakeholders in making informed decisions that balance complex trade-offs and business impacts.
  • Promote innovation by evaluating and integrating emerging technologies, third-party tools, and open-source software to maintain industry leadership.
  • Ensure architectural designs optimize system reliability, reduce latency, and minimize downtime as key success criteria.
  • Cultivate a culture focused on innovation, technical excellence, and collective achievement across the organization.

Required Qualifications

  • Over 15 years of experience in software development and architectural leadership, including at least 5 years directing architecture teams at a senior or executive level.
  • Expertise in designing and implementing distributed, cloud-native architectures with significant experience in AWS.
  • Proven track record in developing AI-native products and embedding AI-first strategies within technology frameworks.
  • Exceptional communication skills to secure endorsement for major technical transformations from executives and engineering teams alike.
  • Experience managing architectural digital transformation in dynamic, fast-growing, or loosely structured corporate settings.
  • Strong financial insight with capability to evaluate technology investments on metrics like Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and Return on Investment (ROI).
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline.

Compensation and Benefits

This full-time role offers a yearly gross salary ranging from €160,800 to €201,000, complemented by variable compensation. Final salary decisions are based on skills, experience, and qualifications without gender bias. Additional compensation possibilities include commissions for sales-related functions or annual bonuses linked to individual and company performance for non-sales functions.

Our benefits package includes generous paid parental leave, flexible time-off policies, health-related insurances (medical, dental, vision), sabbaticals following five years of service, and more.
