The Senior Consultant typically leads investigations with a small team, reporting to an engagement lead, ensuring high-quality results with senior guidance on complex issues. Additionally, the role encompasses technical skill enhancement, mentoring junior staff, and contributing to business growth through development initiatives and proposal support.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage smaller investigations, compliance reviews, and forensic accounting tasks both domestically and internationally, leading teams of one or two and reporting to an engagement lead.
- Handle the majority (approx. 60%) of engagement delivery autonomously, seeking senior input for complex or sensitive activities.
- Adhere to firm standards concerning technical excellence, client service, delivery quality, and commercial performance consistently.
- Identify and escalate risks and budget concerns promptly while proposing practical solutions.
- Develop into a trusted contact for clients on sensitive subjects by providing practical, well-supported advice.
- Motivate and lead small teams, establishing clear objectives and upholding high quality standards.
- Mentor and support junior colleagues through leadership, technical assistance, and constructive feedback.
- Ensure analytical rigor and high-quality output by reviewing team members' work.
- Promote a collaborative, inclusive work environment that encourages excellence, professional growth, and knowledge sharing.
- Contribute to business development by assisting in proposals to convert leads.
- Establish and nurture client relationships through consistent delivery of quality work.
- Identify client needs, regulatory updates, and market trends to uncover business opportunities.
- Represent the company at client engagements and industry events to bolster market presence.
Candidate Profile and Requirements
- Extensive experience in conducting internal investigations.
- Proven ability to lead small teams and produce high-quality results with limited senior oversight.
- Developing coaching skills for supporting junior team members.
- Experience in business development activities and client relationship management.
- Meticulous attention to detail and a methodical, structured approach to responsibilities.
- Bachelor's degree or its equivalent is required.
- Possession of a chartered accountancy qualification (such as ACA, ACCA) is highly advantageous, ideally with additional certifications like the CFE.
- Strong understanding of technological applications in investigations.
- An expanding network of client contacts.
- Familiarity with relevant legislation and standards, including the UK Bribery Act, US FCPA, or Sapin II.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken; proficiency in additional languages like Spanish or Arabic would be beneficial.
Benefits and Additional Information
- The company offers a competitive pay and benefits structure, detailed fully within the formal job offer.
- A discretionary global bonus scheme rewards individual and company performance.
- Hybrid working arrangements are supported, balancing in-person collaboration with flexible and remote work.
- Commitment to equal opportunity is paramount, encouraging applicants from diverse backgrounds and providing reasonable adjustments for the interview process as needed.
