Job description
Role Overview
As a Minor Safety Analyst at Control Risks based in Sydney, you will be pivotal in protecting minors by analyzing safety and abuse reports related to vulnerable users. Your work will involve detailed open-source and platform-based investigations to detect harmful behaviors, identify threat actors, and evaluate potential risks. You will manage high-volume analytic workflows, documenting findings precisely and meeting strict deadlines. Clear written reports and summaries to internal and client teams will be part of your regular duties. Collaboration with various teams ensures efficient handling of safety-related requests according to protocol.
Work Schedule
This position requires working from Tuesday to Saturday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm local time.
Responsibilities
- Assess and handle abuse and safety incident reports with an emphasis on cases involving minors, adhering to current procedures.
- Perform investigative research using open-source and platform tools to analyze behaviors, assess threat actors, and understand context and impact.
- Maintain analytic workflows by documenting outcomes accurately while respecting deadlines and consistency requirements.
- Generate well-structured written materials including summaries, briefings, and investigative reports for stakeholders.
- Work closely with colleagues across teams and external vendors to ensure the accurate and timely processing of safety requests.
- Help improve investigative operations and knowledge bases continuously.
- Engage in ongoing training, peer review, and shadowing to enhance professional skills and investigative techniques.
Requirements
- Between 1 to 2 years of experience in trust and safety, behavioral abuse investigations, intelligence work, or related areas.
- Competence in open-source intelligence (OSINT), social media investigations, or analyzing online risks.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to present findings clearly and impartially.
- A good grasp of online behavioral threats, influence operations, or content moderation is preferred.
- Capability to juggle multiple cases simultaneously under short deadlines while maintaining meticulous attention to detail.
- Familiarity with investigative or intelligence processes including data validation and evaluating sources.
- A Bachelor’s degree in fields such as International Relations, Criminology, Cybersecurity, Communications, or comparable hands-on experience.
