Senior Barista

Role Overview

The Senior Barista is responsible for delivering exceptional coffee experiences to customers by expertly preparing various coffee drinks and leading junior baristas. This role encompasses brewing excellence, equipment upkeep, inventory management, customer engagement, and training of team members to maintain high service standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve a wide selection of coffee beverages such as espresso, cappuccinos, lattes, Americanos, and specialty blends, ensuring adherence to company quality and presentation standards.
• Maintain and calibrate coffee machines and grinders to guarantee consistent, high-quality coffee extraction.
• Interact with customers to identify their preferences and suggest suitable drinks.
• Operate, clean, and care for all coffee preparation equipment in compliance with hygiene and safety regulations.
• Welcome guests, accurately process orders, and handle payments professionally and courteously.
• Oversee inventory control by restocking essential ingredients like coffee beans, milk, and syrups to ensure uninterrupted service.
• Keep the work environment spotless and organized, meeting food hygiene standards required by the Singapore Food Agency (SFA).
• Stay informed about menu items, seasonal promotions, and specials to assist customers effectively.
• Deliver exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries or concerns with professionalism and friendliness.
• Promote the sale of complementary products such as pastries and merchandise.
• Manage multiple tasks efficiently to reduce wait times and maintain service flow.
• Contribute to other restaurant operations, including cashier duties, service, and cleaning as needed.
• Collaborate closely with kitchen and service teams to ensure smooth operations.
• Mentor and train less experienced baristas to enhance their skills and knowledge.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

• At least 2 to 3 years of barista experience.
• Valid Food Safety Level 1 Certificate.
• Strong understanding of coffee extraction principles and equipment calibration.
• Basic proficiency in latte art.
• Possess a positive attitude toward work and teamwork.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• A genuine passion for coffee and customer service excellence.
