Job description
Role Overview
As a Senior Airport Emergency Officer, your primary mission is to save lives and protect property during emergencies. You'll utilize specialized aviation firefighting skills as a key member of a highly trained team that responds to aircraft incidents and accidents.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage teams of firefighters in emergency rescue and firefighting operations at incident sites.
- Oversee command and control functions during aircraft emergencies, coordinating multi-agency crisis response efforts.
- During non-emergency periods, guide the strategic direction of your unit and prioritize the training and development of your personnel.
- Complete a rigorous training program including 3 months of Basic Airport Firefighter training, 1 month of Airport Fire Officer course focused on small team leadership, and 1 month of Senior Airport Fire Officer course specializing in incident management.
- Apply your skills at assigned airport fire stations with potential rotations to other stations or military airbases to broaden operational experience.
