Overview
AtkinsRéalis is looking for a skilled Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Officer to join our team in Doha, Qatar. The role entails ensuring adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards on site, fostering a safety-focused work environment, and implementing strategies to manage and reduce risks effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish, enforce, and oversee HSE policies and procedures in line with local legislation and company guidelines.
- Perform regular site inspections and audits to confirm compliance with HSE standards.
- Identify workplace hazards and develop measures to minimize risks.
- Deliver HSE training and emergency response guidance to staff.
- Maintain accurate HSE records including reports, risk evaluations, and incident investigation documentation.
- Coordinate with regulatory bodies and relevant stakeholders on HSE issues.
- Support the creation of comprehensive safety plans and emergency response protocols for projects.
- Advocate a proactive health and safety culture through active communication and education.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a relevant discipline.
- At least 13 years of professional experience in HSE roles, with a preference for candidates experienced in UAE site supervision.
- Thorough knowledge of UAE health, safety, and environmental laws and regulations.
- Professional certification in HSE management such as NEBOSH or IOSH is highly advantageous.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal capabilities.
- Proven ability to work effectively within culturally diverse teams.
