Security Guard - Full Time (38 Hours/Week) - Medicine Hat, Alberta

We are currently recruiting a Security Guard for the Medicine Hat area to provide reliable and vigilant security services to clients.

Work Schedule and Compensation

• Weekly Hours: 38 hours
• Scheduled Shifts: Wednesday and Thursday from 6:00 AM to 5:00 PM; Saturday and Sunday from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM
• Hourly Rate: $17.25 per hour

Primary Responsibilities

• Monitor and report on activities and incidents at assigned client locations to ensure safety and security of property, assets, and personnel.
• Conduct periodic patrols to identify irregularities and examine protective and fire control equipment.
• Maintain order and enforce site regulations concerning personnel, visitors, and premises.
• Manage access control through proper admittance procedures.
• Patrol sites by foot or vehicle to check for hazards, unlocked doors, security breaches, or unauthorized individuals.
• Deliver excellent customer service while minimizing risks to the client's property.
• Monitor intrusion systems via automated alarms and video surveillance software.
• Utilize computer systems for site monitoring and to complete required training modules.
• Protect scenes and evidence during incidents or emergencies for investigative purposes.

Candidate Qualifications

• Possession of valid Alberta Security Guard License
• Valid Class 5 driver's license along with access to a personal vehicle
• Ability to successfully pass drug and alcohol testing
• Availability for daytime training on weekdays, totaling at least 40 hours
• Strong understanding of security operations and procedures
• Excellent organizational, communication, and customer service skills
• Ability to write routine reports and logs
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office proficiency
• Physical capability to walk, stand, and conduct patrols
• First Aid and CPR certification is an advantage
