Full-Time Security Guard in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador

Job Overview

We are seeking a diligent Security Guard to maintain safety and security at a client location in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador. The role involves monitoring property and personnel, conducting patrols, inspecting safety equipment, and enforcing site rules to protect assets and individuals.

Key Responsibilities

• Observe activities and report incidents within the assigned site.
• Conduct regular patrols on foot or vehicle to detect irregularities, hazards, or security breaches.
• Inspect protection systems and fire control devices to ensure proper operation.
• Maintain order and enforce regulations concerning personnel, visitors, and the premises.
• Control site access by managing the admittance process.
• Secure incident scenes in cases of accidents, emergencies, or investigations.
• Respond promptly to emergencies including fire, medical situations, bomb threats, flooding, elevator issues, hazardous materials, adverse weather, and others.
• Prepare necessary logs and reports documenting site activities and incidents.
• Perform additional tasks as required by business needs, acknowledging that duties may vary.

Job Requirements

• Ability to see, hear, speak, and write clearly, with or without accommodation.
• Physical capability to occasionally reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
• Capacity to sit, stand, and walk for long durations.
• Able to climb stairs, navigate inclined and uneven surfaces.
• Frequent lifting/moving of objects up to 10 lbs; occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.
• Must meet and uphold all relevant licensing requirements for Security Guards.
• Possession of a valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle.
• Ability to travel independently to assigned sites located approximately 25 to 35 km from the city.
