Job description
Role Overview
The Department of Education and Training is seeking a School Attendance Officer to support student engagement and compliance with compulsory education laws across various Northern Territory locations including Palmerston, Milingimbi, Nhulunbuy, and Ramingining. This role involves ensuring adherence to the Northern Territory Education Act 2015 by parents, guardians, and independent students in relation to school attendance.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement compliance measures against families and students who do not meet compulsory schooling requirements as stipulated by legislation.
- Engage actively with the community to support educational attendance and identify barriers to school participation.
- Work within student engagement programs and services to promote positive attendance outcomes.
