Role Overview
The Sales Representative will play a key part in turning new prospects into active clients. The position focuses on prospecting, qualifying leads, understanding shipping requirements, recommending suitable Chit Chats solutions, and guiding prospects through the buying process.
Working under the Sales Manager – Business Development, this role contributes directly to revenue growth by converting qualified opportunities and ensuring a smooth transition to onboarding and account management once a client is ready to ship.
What You Will Do
- Source and develop new business through outbound outreach, incoming leads, referrals, marketplace research, and reactivation efforts.
- Run discovery conversations to learn about a prospect’s shipping volume, current carriers, pain points, platforms, service expectations, and growth outlook.
- Assess prospects for commercial fit, shipping profile, compliance needs, operational practicality, and revenue potential.
- Explain Chit Chats services in a clear, polished way while adapting the discussion to each client’s situation.
- Create simple pricing comparisons, savings summaries, proposals, and follow-up documentation.
- Partner with the Sales Manager, Data, Product, and Operations teams when questions around pricing or service fit require additional support.
- Keep CRM records accurate and up to date for leads, opportunities, and clients.
- Log outreach, follow-ups, next actions, and pipeline progress consistently.
- Work closely with Onboarding and Account Management to support a seamless handoff after the deal is closed.
- Maintain regular, professional follow-up to advance opportunities through the sales funnel.
- Capture customer feedback and needs that may shape future products, service enhancements, marketing efforts, or partnerships.
- Support sales campaigns, segment-specific outreach, and market research projects.
- Deliver on or exceed targets related to activity, pipeline, conversions, activations, and revenue.
Requirements
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
- Comfort using cold outreach, discovery calls, follow-ups, and client-facing presentations.
- A customer-first approach with the ability to identify issues and recommend workable solutions.
- Strong organization and the ability to manage multiple prospects at different stages simultaneously.
- Ability to quickly learn Chit Chats’ services, pricing model, shipping processes, compliance expectations, and operational constraints.
- Hands-on experience with CRM systems, Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and basic reporting tools.
- Solid problem-solving skills and a collaborative approach when working with internal teams.
- Self-driven, persistent, and comfortable performing in a goal-oriented sales environment.
- Ability to balance growth objectives with client fit, profitability, and operational feasibility.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 1 to 3+ years of experience in sales, business development, customer success, account management, or sales support.
- Experience in e-commerce, shipping, logistics, marketplaces, or small business services is considered an advantage.

Compensation and Benefits
- Starting salary of $55,000 per year.
- Eligibility for a tiered sales commission incentive plan.
- Employer-paid group benefits covering health, dental, and vision at 80%, available after 3 months.
- Annual year-end bonus.
- Two weeks of paid vacation, negotiable.
- Paid birthday leave.
- Eligibility for a rich GRSP plan after 3 months of employment.
