Job description
About the Company
Chit Chats Express is a rapidly expanding company dedicated to helping Canadian entrepreneurs ship more easily, with greater access and lower costs. Its focus is on enabling businesses of every size to serve customers internationally without unnecessary friction or high entry barriers.
The company’s purpose is to deliver a smooth, borderless shipping experience that helps Canadian businesses grow, expand their reach, and build long-term success. Candidates who are motivated by purpose, eager to grow, and comfortable working in a team-oriented environment are encouraged to consider this opportunity.
Role Overview
The Sales Representative plays a key role in finding, evaluating, and converting new business prospects into active Chit Chats clients. The position centers on developing relationships with potential customers, learning their shipping requirements, presenting suitable solutions, and guiding them through the buying process.
This role includes lead follow-up, discovery conversations, opportunity qualification, proposal and pricing comparison preparation, and coordination with internal teams to ensure clients are set up for success. Reporting to the Sales Manager, Business Development, the representative helps drive revenue growth by turning qualified opportunities into active shipping clients and supporting a smooth transition to onboarding and account management.
Responsibilities
- Source and pursue new business through outbound prospecting, inbound inquiries, referrals, marketplace research, and reactivation efforts.
- Run discovery calls to learn about shipping volume, current carriers, pain points, platforms, service requirements, and growth potential.
- Assess prospects for commercial fit, shipping profile, compliance needs, operational feasibility, and expected revenue.
- Explain Chit Chats services in a professional and client-focused way, adapting the discussion to each prospect’s needs.
- Create simple pricing comparisons, savings summaries, proposals, and follow-up documents.
- Partner with the Sales Manager, Data, Product, and Operations teams when more complex pricing or service questions arise.
- Keep lead, opportunity, and client records current in the CRM.
- Monitor outreach activity, follow-ups, next steps, and deal progress.
- Coordinate with Onboarding and Account Management to ensure a seamless handoff after the sale is closed.
- Maintain steady and professional follow-up to move deals through the pipeline.
- Share client insights that may help shape future products, service improvements, marketing initiatives, or partnership opportunities.
- Support sales campaigns, industry-specific outreach, and market research projects.
- Work toward or surpass assigned targets for activity, pipeline, conversions, activations, and revenue.
Requirements
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Experience with B2B outreach in logistics is a strong advantage.
- Prior sales experience in logistics or supply chain B2B is highly valued.
- Comfort with cold calling, discovery conversations, follow-up work, and client presentations.
- A customer-first approach with the ability to identify pain points and recommend workable solutions.
- Strong organization skills and the ability to manage multiple prospects at different stages.
- Willingness and ability to learn Chit Chats’ services, pricing, shipping processes, compliance expectations, and operational needs.
- Experience with CRM platforms, Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and basic reporting tools.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work effectively with internal teams.
- Self-driven, resilient, and comfortable being measured against sales objectives.
- Ability to balance growth goals with client fit, profitability, and operational practicality.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2 to 5+ years of experience in sales, business development, customer success, account management, or sales support within logistics or supply chain.
- Exposure to e-commerce, shipping, logistics, marketplaces, or services for small businesses is an asset.
- B2B sales experience, ideally in logistics, transportation, or a related field, is an advantage.
Compensation and Benefits
The starting salary is $55,000 per year. The role is also eligible for a tiered commission-based Sales Incentive Plan.
Additional rewards include employer-paid group benefits covering health, dental, and vision at 80% after 3 months, an annual year-end bonus, two weeks of paid vacation that is negotiable, paid birthday leave, and eligibility for a GRSP plan after 3 months of employment.

Only candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.
The successful applicant must complete reference checks and a criminal background check before employment begins.
The employer supports employment equity and encourages qualified candidates from designated groups to apply.
