Role overview
This position is for a Sales Officer in the Sales function, based in Bihar. The role focuses on strengthening product reach, supporting the distribution network, and converting market opportunities into sustainable sales growth.

You will be responsible for improving business performance across your territory by keeping products available, managing distributor operations, and building strong trade relationships. The position also calls for close coordination with teams across sales, marketing, supply chain, and distribution to support execution in the field.

Key responsibilities
- Maintain product availability across all relevant sales channels.
- Set, track, and deliver monthly and annual sales targets, including targets for each distributor.
- Review distributor overheads and profitability, including return on investment.
- Handle distribution arrangements and guide secondary sales force deployment.
- Roll out trade activations, consumer engagement activities, merchandising, and visibility initiatives.
- Ensure distributors follow the company’s defined roles, processes, and responsibilities.
- Oversee correct implementation of sales, discount, and trading terms.
- Train and develop the secondary sales team.
- Evaluate the performance of secondary sales personnel.
- Use strong communication, analytical thinking, adaptability, resourcefulness, innovation, confidence, and professionalism in day-to-day work.
Candidate profile
The ideal candidate should hold a bachelor’s degree in any discipline and bring 1 to 8 years of field sales experience in FMCG or FMCD. A solid understanding of channel sales and distribution management is important, along with a proven ability to manage trade relationships, deliver targets, and execute plans effectively.
Strong communication, analytical ability, problem-solving skills, and the capability to lead and motivate secondary sales teams in fast-changing environments are also essential.
