About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and goal-driven Sales Officer to join our logistics and shipping company in Jeddah, Makkah. This role focuses on expanding our clientele by promoting our freight, transportation, warehousing, and logistics services, consistently meeting and exceeding sales objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify potential clients requiring logistics and shipping solutions and approach them effectively.
- Market and sell a range of company services including freight forwarding, transportation, warehousing, and other logistics offerings.
- Generate leads through various methods such as cold calls, client visits, networking events, referrals, and thorough market analysis.
- Understand clients’ shipping demands and tailor service solutions to meet their specific needs.
- Prepare accurate quotations, proposals, and service agreements for clients.
- Conduct negotiations on pricing, service terms, and contracts with both prospective and existing customers.
- Convert sales opportunities into confirmed business through consistent follow-ups.
- Meet or surpass monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
- Develop and nurture long-lasting relationships with clients to encourage retention and account growth.
- Maintain active communication with customers to ensure satisfaction with services provided.
- Collaborate with operations and customer service teams to guarantee seamless shipment processing and delivery.
- Address any commercial issues related to shipments raised by clients promptly.
- Monitor industry trends, customer demands, competitor activities, and changes in shipping rates.
- Keep detailed records of client interactions, leads, quotations, and sales activities.
- Prepare and submit periodic sales reports, forecasts, and updates on sales pipelines.
- Coordinate with finance to follow up on outstanding payments and related matters.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a similar discipline.
- Prior sales experience, especially within logistics, shipping, freight forwarding, transportation, or courier industries, is preferred.
- Comprehensive understanding of logistics and shipping operations.
- Demonstrated ability to generate leads, acquire new customers, and close sales effectively.
- Strong communication, negotiation, presentation, and relationship-management skills.
- Excellent customer service orientation with strong problem-solving capabilities.
- Target-driven and capable of working autonomously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and CRM software.
- Good command of the English language.
- Possession of a valid driving license and access to a vehicle is advantageous.
Performance Metrics
- Achievement of predefined sales and revenue goals.
- Number of newly acquired clients.
- Total value of logistics and shipping contracts secured.
