Job description
Role overview
This position is focused on giving guests an excellent stay by keeping bedrooms spotless, well maintained, and presented to a very high standard. It is a practical, hands-on housekeeping role that calls for a strong eye for detail, good pace, and a consistent drive to make the guest experience feel exceptional.
Why Village Hotels
Village Hotels values personality, real connection, and a positive team culture. The company encourages people to be themselves, take responsibility, develop new abilities, and build their careers. Prior hotel or housekeeping experience is helpful, but a positive attitude, energy, and willingness to work with others matter more. Training and support are provided for the right person.
Culture and working style
The team culture is built around doing the job properly, respecting colleagues, and caring about guests, the community, and one another. That includes working to accurate standards, maintaining room productivity targets, supporting teammates during busy periods, handling guest privacy and belongings carefully, using cleaning products responsibly, and keeping a professional, approachable presence on the floors.
Key duties
As a Room Attendant, you will be responsible for guest-room cleaning and presentation, keeping bathrooms and corridors in excellent condition, restocking guest supplies, and responding politely to requests. You will also keep your housekeeping trolley tidy and stocked, raise maintenance problems or missing items quickly, and follow all health, safety, hygiene, and COSHH procedures when using cleaning materials and equipment.
How success is measured
The role gives you ownership over your daily room allocation and pace, with minimal day-to-day micromanagement. The business supports growth through training and feedback from inspections and audits, with a focus on improving standards, guest satisfaction, and mystery guest results.
Perks and support
Benefits include two complimentary gym memberships at your home hotel, hotel rooms from £20 across 35 hotels, 50% off food and drinks for you and up to 5 guests, 75% off Sunday dinner for up to 6 people, 25% off food and beverage for 2 friends or family members even when you are not present, access to hundreds of retail and lifestyle discounts through the Village app, and 24/7 mental health support through the Employee Assistance Programme.
Who this role suits
This opportunity is best suited to someone who enjoys working as part of a dependable team, takes pride in high standards, communicates well, and brings a friendly, positive attitude. The employer is more interested in motivation and reliability than a perfect CV.
