Role Overview

As a Retail Loss Prevention Officer, you play a key role within the BESTSECRET family, working alongside your team to maintain a secure and pleasant environment at retail locations. Your vigilance, professional demeanor, and strong sense of responsibility actively contribute to preventing losses and ensuring store safety. Your presence and analytical skills enable you to detect potential risks early, support incident investigation, and help enhance security procedures. You handle all situations confidently, with a solutions-oriented approach and utmost professionalism.

Working Hours

The role follows store opening hours, encompassing a 40-hour workweek over five days, exclusively on weekdays. No shift work is involved.

Primary Responsibilities

• Implement company strategies aimed at reducing crime and inventory discrepancies through identifying and analyzing loss risks
• Conduct covert surveillance of customers and staff on the sales floor, including reviewing and analyzing CCTV footage
• Detect, prevent, and respond to internal and external theft, including executing preliminary detentions when necessary
• Document incidents thoroughly, prepare reports, and collaborate with law enforcement agencies
• Oversee security systems usage and data analysis while aiding in process improvements for safety measures
• Lead training and awareness programs related to loss prevention and shrink reduction to bolster store security awareness
• Deter potential offenders through professional and strategic presence in the store environment

Qualifications

• Strong self-motivation, resilience, and excellent communication skills
• Mandatory prior experience as a detective; experience in retail or security environments is advantageous
• Reliable, organized, and responsible with keen attention to detail and observational abilities
• Well-developed interpersonal insight and psychological sensitivity to detect suspicious behavior
• Assertiveness combined with a calm and de-escalative presence
• Discretion, intercultural competence, trustworthiness, and a polished professional appearance
• Fluent German language skills; knowledge of additional languages is beneficial
• Sound understanding of legal frameworks and proficient handling of relevant security systems
