Role Overview
BESTSECRET is seeking a Junior Merchandise Planner (m/f/d) to support selected departments and categories. This is a permanent, full-time position with the option to work remotely. The role sits within the Supply business unit, which covers sourcing, procurement, and in-season trading. Working closely with a buying partner, you will share commercial responsibility for a defined business area and help shape the financial KPI plan in line with the overall strategy. You will monitor performance, manage risks, identify opportunities, and contribute planning expertise and analytical thinking in a fast-changing international environment.
Responsibilities
- Review sales and stock performance, identify the main factors affecting profit and margin, and suggest actions that improve upside and reduce risk in coordination with the Merchandise Planner.
- Take ownership of a specific sub-category within the assortment.
- Lead the weekly open-to-buy process and ensure clear alignment with stakeholders across Supply, Demand, and Logistics while challenging assumptions where needed to keep the business proactive.
- Work with the buying partner to spot future opportunities, shape assortment strategies, and implement the agreed plans.
- Develop collaborative working relationships both internally and with external partners to support business growth.
- Prepare weekly reporting and forecasting for all key performance indicators.
- Identify ways to improve and simplify existing planning tools and processes, and propose better approaches for an evolving business model.
- Contribute to pricing, promotion, and markdown decisions.
Requirements
- A degree in business administration or a similar business-related qualification.
- Practical experience in merchandise planning, preferably in an international e-commerce setting.
- A strong analytical approach and hands-on experience with planning and forecasting tools and systems.
- Advanced skills in MS Excel and BI reporting tools, along with comfort using other MS Office applications.
- Clear and effective communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages to different audiences.
- The ability to work independently, stay results-focused, and think creatively.
- A solution-oriented mindset with an entrepreneurial attitude.
- Fluency in written and spoken business English.
- A genuine interest in fashion products and an enjoyment of working in a collaborative environment.
