Job description
Overview
Nanyang Technological University’s School of Civil and Environmental Engineering is offering a full-time Research Fellow position in Maritime Studies. The role begins at a flexible time, is typically appointed for 1 year, and may be extended further depending on strong performance and the continuation of research funding.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out research focused on shipping network modelling, resilience analysis, maritime decarbonisation, data analysis, methodology development, and practical applications.
- Assist in compiling project reports and other required deliverables.
- Prepare research outputs for publication in leading peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings.
- Work closely with fellow researchers on discussions, coordination, and joint project deliverables.
- Contribute to the development of research proposals and grant submissions.
Requirements
- A PhD in transport engineering, maritime transport and management, computer science, or a closely related discipline from a reputable university.
- Strong coding ability in languages such as Python, C++, Java, Julia, or comparable programming languages.
- Demonstrated publication record in respected peer-reviewed journals or conferences, preferably in maritime transport, logistics management, machine learning, deep learning, or optimization.
- Strong command of written and spoken English, needed for data work and communication with stakeholders.
- Good interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to work on your own and deliver solutions under tight deadlines.
- Prior involvement in proposal development and funding applications.
Additional Information
