Role overview
The Asia Competitiveness Institute at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy is looking for a Research Assistant to join its research team in Bukit Timah Campus, Singapore. The selected candidate will work with ACI Director Professor Paul Cheung on multiple research efforts focused on Indonesia and other Asian economies.
Key responsibilities
The role supports policy-oriented research, data analysis, and project execution across studies related to Indonesia and the wider Asian region. It also involves handling Indonesian-language research material and contributing to stakeholder engagement where needed.
Requirements
Applicants should hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Social Sciences, or a closely related field. Prior exposure to policy analysis is needed, along with a solid understanding of Indonesia’s socioeconomic development and that of other Asian economies.
The role also calls for experience working with large economic datasets for statistical analysis, strong organisational and analytical ability, and excellent spoken and written English and Bahasa Indonesia. The candidate must be comfortable managing several tasks at once, working under tight deadlines, and contributing effectively both independently and as part of a team. A high level of self-motivation is essential.
