Remote Insurance Verification Specialist

About the Role

We are looking for an Insurance Verification Specialist to join our healthcare reimbursement team in a fully remote capacity. This contract position, starting August 31, 2026, focuses on helping patients navigate insurance and reimbursement complexities to ensure they receive timely access to necessary therapies.

Key Responsibilities

• Verify medical and pharmacy insurance benefits and reimbursement options, including financial assistance programs.
• Manage prior authorizations and appeals to facilitate uninterrupted therapy for patients.
• Collaborate with patients, healthcare providers, insurance companies, and internal teams to resolve coverage concerns promptly.
• Review and document insurance details and identify discrepancies within multiple systems.
• Conduct benefits research through payer portals and direct communication with insurers.
• Provide regular updates to providers and patients using various communication channels.
• Support quality and compliance initiatives, including audits and adherence to HIPAA and pharmacy regulations.
• Maintain accurate patient demographic and insurance information while protecting sensitive data.
• Work cross-functionally to enhance processes and improve patient experiences.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree is preferred.
• 3 to 4 years of experience in healthcare reimbursement, insurance verification, prior authorizations, and healthcare call center environments.
• In-depth understanding of commercial and government insurance plans, benefits, reimbursement procedures, appeals, and specialty pharmacy practices.
• Strong problem-solving skills with excellent organizational and multitasking capabilities.
• Superior verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail and a focus on accuracy.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and adaptable to new systems quickly.
• Ability to work independently while delivering high productivity and quality standards.
• Secure, private workspace suitable for remote work is required.
• Experience in pharmacy benefits verification is highly desirable.
