Remote Hospice Triage Registered Nurse (RN) - Full Time, Monday to Friday 6:30 AM to 4 PM CST (No Weekends)

About the Role

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our expanding team. In this remote position, you will provide vital after-hours telephone triage to hospice patients and their families, ensuring that care is coordinated and delivered promptly with empathy and professionalism.

Our triage nurses operate as an integral part of our clients’ care teams, providing essential support during non-core hours.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver telephone triage services for hospice patients and their families.
• Evaluate patient health status and determine the appropriate next steps.
• Work collaboratively with on-call teams to ensure seamless care coordination and allocation of resources.
• Document all patient communications and care interventions accurately and promptly.
• Maintain composure and professionalism during urgent and high-stress calls.

Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in multiple states.
• Prior experience or familiarity with hospice, palliative, or end-of-life care is highly preferred.
• Comfortable utilizing technology and electronic medical records (EMR) systems for documentation.
• Strong ability to type accurate notes rapidly in a fast-paced environment.
• Capable of managing stress and multitasking effectively, handling a minimum of five calls per hour on weekdays and up to eight calls per hour on weekends.
• Excellent communication skills coupled with critical thinking abilities.
• Ability to work independently and reliably in a remote setting with consistent internet access.

Work Hours and Schedule

This is a remote, part-time role with scheduled shifts from Monday to Friday between 6:30 AM and 4:00 PM CST, with no weekend duties.

Compensation and Benefits

• Starting wage of $25 per hour with multiple opportunities to increase up to $28 per hour within the first six months.
• Additional $2 per hour shift differentials for overnight and weekend shifts (Friday evening through Sunday).
• Three weeks of fully paid remote training.
