Position and Location

This role is for a Relief Contact Worker based in Homeless Services across various Dublin locations including Tallaght, Clontarf, Drumcondra, Santry, and Firhouse, reporting to the Service Manager. The position involves flexible part-time hours covering days and nights from Monday to Sunday.

Compensation and Terms

The hourly wage ranges between €16.65 and €21.55, generally starting towards the lower to mid-range based on skills and experience.

Job Purpose

To oversee effective service operation during duty hours, while providing support to families residing in these services. Emphasis is placed on assisting team members through a housing-led, trauma-informed approach that emphasizes collaboration, respect, and trust.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide varied support and interventions focused on trauma-informed care.
  • Participate actively in team meetings and contribute to continuous professional development.
  • Adopt and promote a housing-led service delivery approach.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of service user interactions, including updates to the Pathway Accommodation & Support System (PASS).
  • Ensure the living environment remains safe, secure, and maintained to high standards.
  • Manage and document all safety and security incidents according to service protocols.
  • Maintain professional boundaries and uphold a respectful manner at all times.
  • Perform additional duties as required to meet the evolving needs of the service.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Completion of apprenticeship at Level 6 or higher is required.
  • Minimum one year of relevant experience in a social care setting.

Technical Skills and Attributes

  • Competent in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Experienced with digital communication platforms such as Microsoft Teams and Zoom.
  • Familiarity with PASS or similar tracking and support systems.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience working with homeless families and understanding their unique needs.
  • Certifications beneficial include First Aid, ASIST, manual handling, fire warden, and lone working.
  • Knowledge of child protection policies and safeguarding vulnerable adults.
  • Ability to provide trauma-informed, non-judgmental support.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on teamwork.
  • Highly motivated, dependable, and adaptable to flexible working hours including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Background checks through Garda Vetting will be performed continuously.

Additional Information

The role demands flexibility, including readiness to work in a 24-hour service environment during nights, weekends, and public holidays as needed.
