Role Overview
We seek a legal expert comfortable in a fast-moving setting to provide vital legal and regulatory guidance. Reporting to the General Manager of Regulatory & Policy Affairs, you will collaborate closely with in-house Legal, Risk, and Corporate Affairs teams as well as senior management, influencing regulatory strategy and ensuring SkyCity remains compliant while delivering exceptional experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver reliable legal and regulatory counsel across all SkyCity operations.
- Stay ahead of industry changes by monitoring and analyzing new laws and regulations.
- Assist senior leaders in making intelligent, commercially sound decisions.
- Lead regulatory submissions, licensing processes, and critical communications.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with regulatory bodies and internal stakeholders.
- Identify potential risks proactively and advance compliance in a complex regulatory setting.
Candidate Profile
- Possession of an LLB degree and admission to practice law in New Zealand, along with at least 5 years of post-qualification experience.
- Broad experience in regulatory, legal, or compliance roles.
- Excellent strategic thinking with skill in managing complex and changing issues.
- Strong stakeholder engagement abilities, proven in influencing, collaboration, and building trust across all levels.
- Capable of translating legislative requirements into clear, practical business advice.
- Proactive and solutions-oriented mindset with meticulous attention to detail.
