Job description

Role overview

This opportunity is for a committed Registered Mental Health Nurse to join a specialist hospital in the Charlwood, Surrey area. The employer is one of the UK’s established healthcare providers.

The facility is a low and medium secure hospital that focuses on the treatment of adult male patients aged 18 and over who have been detained under the Mental Health Act 1983 and require extended rehabilitation and therapeutic support.

Essential qualification

Applicants must be qualified as an RMN and hold a current active NMC PIN.

What the role involves

  • Delivering a consistently high level of care for people living with mental illness and personality disorder.
  • Building therapeutic relationships that help improve engagement and participation in treatment.
  • Working in line with professional codes, standards and legislation while safeguarding the rights of others and supporting ethical practice.
  • Taking part in patient assessments, creating care plans together with the individual, and tracking progress over time.
  • At senior level, leading shifts and providing guidance, mentorship and support to student nurses and other team members.
