Regional Vice President of Operations

Role overview

This role offers administrative and financial advisory support across a region made up of multiple facilities backed by PACS.

What you will do

• Oversee regional operations for a mix of skilled nursing and assisted living facilities.
• Help facilities improve budgeting practices and overall financial results.
• Source, assess, and coach new facility administrators and administrators-in-training; although they report to the facility Governing Body, you will act as their practical day-to-day guide and mentor.
• Support local marketing activities by building and sustaining relationships within the community.
• Contribute to contract discussions that affect the region as a whole.
• Take an active role in acquisition efforts for new facilities in your assigned region.
• Track survey timelines for the region and be available on-site during survey periods.
• Make regular visits to facilities and reinforce a culture where employees are treated as a key asset.
• Model PACS mission, vision, and values in day-to-day leadership.
• Step in as a licensed nursing home administrator when needed.
• Plan and lead monthly operations meetings with supported facilities.
• Partner with facility leaders to set goals and ensure accountability.
• Build strong relationships with PACS support functions such as HR, Therapy, Clinical, and Finance to help facilities and the region meet or exceed targets.
• Stay current on HR concerns and risk-management issues across the region.
• Work with the PACS clinical support team, including awareness of quality assurance measures and accountability follow-through.
• Support efforts to improve resident and family satisfaction and overall well-being.
• Monitor collections and accounts receivable throughout the region.
• Watch turnover trends and identify patterns that can improve facility performance.
• Keep a solid working knowledge of federal and state rules affecting facility operations.
• Use strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and organizational ability to manage the scope of the role.

Leadership and supervision

This position may directly or indirectly oversee multiple employee levels. Duties can include hiring, onboarding, training, budgeting, performance reviews, rewards, discipline, complaint handling, problem resolution, and terminations.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university is required.
• A master’s degree in Health Care Administration or an MBA is preferred.
• You must hold an active Administrator license.
• At least 5 years of experience as a licensed Administrator is preferred.

Physical requirements and travel

The role may require occasional lifting or moving of up to 25 pounds. It involves extended use of a desktop or laptop computer, and regular sitting, standing, walking, speaking, reading, and hearing. Frequent use of office equipment such as a copier, scanner, fax machine, telephone, and calculator is expected. Travel by car and air is required.
