Role summary
This position is focused on driving regional business performance in the Surat area by meeting sales goals, improving team productivity, and supporting customer acquisition and service activities. The role also includes leading a team of Sales Managers and ensuring that business is conducted through the right processes and controls.
Job context and key challenges
The selected candidate will be responsible for growing business in the assigned region while continuously helping the sales team perform at a higher level. A major challenge in this role is coaching the sales force so they can convert leads and prospects effectively through a consultative, need-based sales approach. Another important part of the job is to keep creating and executing activities that bring in new prospects so the team stays fully engaged.
Responsibilities and accountabilities
- Deliver the business targets for premium and NAAC to support the company’s overall growth.
- Stay in regular contact with Sales Managers, review performance frequently, and track productivity levels.
- Ensure strong participation and awareness in all reward-and-recognition initiatives run by the organization.
- Convert high-potential prospects into customers.
- Keep sales and service processes running smoothly to maximize business opportunity.
- Communicate changes in processes, rules, or regulations through suitable training modules.
- Support sales and servicing work such as sales calls, policy issuance, and complaint resolution.
- Control expenses by understanding spending needs, securing commitment before allocating budgets, and maintaining a Sales Manager-wise expense tracker.
- Place the right people in the right roles, assign responsibilities based on team strengths, and allocate targets according to each business unit’s potential.
- Hire, train, and develop team members to improve productivity.
- Review business quality regularly and maintain a profitable business mix.
- Interact with customers through welcome calls and other follow-ups.
- Maintain persistency goals by staying in touch with customers and resolving queries so renewals happen on time.
- Support centrally generated leads with planned activities and explore new ways to create additional lead opportunities.
- Guide, monitor, and coach the team, including both on-the-job and classroom training for capability building.
Requirements
- Proven ability to lead a sales team and drive target achievement in a regional setup.
- Strong understanding of customer acquisition, servicing, and lead conversion in a need-based selling environment.
- Capability to manage processes, coordinate training, and support sales operations effectively.
- Experience in team mentoring, supervision, and productivity improvement.
- Ability to manage expenses, maintain trackers, and handle business planning with discipline.
- Comfort with customer follow-up, issue resolution, and renewal/persistency management.
Additional information
The role is based in Surat, Gujarat, India. This is a full-time, onsite position.
