Job description
Role overview
This opportunity is shared on behalf of a partner organization that handles the application review and subsequent hiring stages. The employer is seeking a Regional Director of Operations in the United States.
This senior leadership role is designed for a seasoned hospitality executive who can guide a multi-property regional portfolio that includes hotels, apartment-hotels, and short-term rental assets. The position centers on improving operational discipline and commercial results by aligning strategy with execution, leading teams across several sites, and building strong owner and partner relationships. You will work closely with colleagues in operations, revenue, finance, marketing, and guest experience to create repeatable processes that support scale, profitability, and excellent guest outcomes in a modern, tech-driven hospitality environment.
What you will do
- Direct the operational and financial results of a regional, multi-market property portfolio with a focus on profitability, guest satisfaction, consistency, and partner value.
- Create and implement regional business plans that connect strategy to property-level execution while supporting revenue growth, efficient operations, and stronger asset performance.
- Lead, coach, and develop Area Directors, General Managers, and other regional leaders while encouraging ownership, high standards, and ongoing growth.
- Work across Revenue Management, Finance, Marketing, Sales, Guest Experience, Real Estate, and Product teams to roll out scalable operational improvements and commercial initiatives.
- Maintain strong communication with ownership groups and strategic partners by sharing business updates, financial insights, and proactive performance actions.
- Set operating standards, quality benchmarks, and performance measures that improve the guest journey, raise efficiency, control costs, and support healthy expansion.
- Spot operational risks, improve processes, guide organizational change, and build systems that can support future growth across different property types.
What the employer is looking for
- At least 12 years of progressive leadership experience in hotel operations, hospitality management, hotel asset management, or similar multi-site service environments.
- Prior General Manager experience with direct property-level P&L accountability in a full-service or select-service hotel setting.
- Proven success managing teams spread across multiple locations while delivering on operational, financial, and guest experience targets.
- Deep knowledge of hospitality operations, revenue management, budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and financial performance review.
- Strong understanding of core hotel metrics such as occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, revenue optimization, and quality standards.
- Track record of building effective teams through hiring, coaching, succession planning, and performance management.
- Experience working with property owners, investors, or institutional partners while clearly presenting financial results and strategic priorities.
- Strong executive-level communication, planning, stakeholder management, and problem-solving abilities in complex operating settings.
- A commercial mindset that balances guest experience, operational quality, profitability, and long-term growth.
- Ability and willingness to travel about 60% or more to support operations and provide visible leadership across markets.
- MBA or similar graduate education, experience in technology-enabled hospitality, and exposure to portfolio-level operations are all helpful advantages.
Compensation and benefits
- Base pay is expected to range from USD 143,000 to USD 180,000, depending on experience, market conditions, and qualifications.
- There is potential eligibility for performance bonuses, equity awards, and additional incentive plans.
- Comprehensive medical coverage is available for eligible employees.
- A 401(k) retirement savings plan is included.
- Full-time exempt employees receive flexible paid time off.
- Travel credits are offered for complimentary stays and reduced rates for friends and family.
- The role offers remote flexibility while supporting a nationwide portfolio.
- Eligible employees may receive a home office stipend, Wi-Fi reimbursement, mobile phone reimbursement, and other work-from-home support.
- A generous stock option program is available to support long-term ownership and career growth.
- The organization emphasizes a collaborative, technology-forward culture focused on innovation, operational excellence, leadership development, and ongoing improvement.
