Job description

Overview

The role involves managing credit and risk operations regionally in line with established policies across multiple business lines. This position drives risk assessment, portfolio quality, process coordination, compliance, and team guidance, working closely with sales and operations to ensure effective decision-making and portfolio health.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and oversee regional risk and credit operations following defined frameworks throughout all business lines.
  • Collaborate with sales and operations teams to coordinate proposals and escalation cases efficiently.
  • Provide guidance to team members on case evaluations, focusing on technical details and property-specific considerations.
  • Approve credit proposals within authorized limits and assist team members with approvals as needed.
  • Monitor bounce rates and delinquency thresholds, reporting early default cases promptly.
  • Ensure timely collection of post-disbursement documents.
  • Enhance process efficiency by enabling smooth business operations without compromising risk controls.
  • Drive process-oriented communication and coordination between risk, sales, and operations teams to support business and risk management goals.
  • Manage escalations involving exceptions by liaising with stakeholders and escalating to Zonals when necessary.
  • Oversee external vendors to ensure the quality and timeliness of reports.
  • Track operational costs carefully, keeping within preset budgets.
  • Maintain compliance with risk principles through routine and ad-hoc reviews of MIS reports, escalation documents, and other records.
  • Ensure strict adherence to the Maker-Checker process involving approvals, collateral valuation, post-disbursal documentation, collections, and other controls.
  • Minimize critical audit observations and ensure timely resolution of any issues.
  • Identify and analyze early warning signals on cases.
  • Coordinate with collections and operations teams to monitor delinquency and drive effective recovery.
  • Handle escalations related to recovery and delinquency management, informing higher management when required.
  • Liaise with delinquent clients and support resolution efforts with the collections team.
  • Report any fraudulent activities to the Risk Monitoring team and appropriate leadership.
  • Partner with sales and operations to foster collaborative, case-driven decision-making and support business sustainability.
  • Lead and mentor team members to improve risk evaluation, underwriting competence, and stakeholder management by enhancing their technical skills and knowledge of legal and property norms.
  • Facilitate team participation in relevant technical and behavioral training programs and pursue personal development activities.
  • Maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure aligned objectives and smooth cross-functional collaboration.

This is a full-time role based onsite in Uttar Pradesh, India, requiring a leadership approach to risk and credit management with strong emphasis on coordination and compliance.
