Role Overview

The Pathway Assistant/Receptionist position presents a valuable chance to become part of the administrative team within the Endoscopy Unit, delivering top-notch reception and administrative services to the division. Acting as an integral member of the Patient Pathway team, this role offers a professional and welcoming reception environment for patients, visitors, and staff in the GI Physiology Unit. It requires being the primary contact point, ensuring courteous patient greetings, prompt handling of inquiries, and smooth daily operation of the reception area.

Key Duties

  • Monitor patient progression through care pathways.
  • Manage clinical correspondence efficiently within required timeframes.
  • Support clinical and multidisciplinary teams administratively to maintain organized and effective service delivery.
  • Handle telephone communications and respond to questions from patients and staff.
  • Perform reception management and update patient records accurately.
  • Assist with the daily administrative tasks essential to the GI Physiology Unit's functioning.
  • Provide general administrative support to clinical, managerial, and administrative personnel.

Candidate Profile

Ideal applicants will have prior experience in administration, preferably within an NHS or healthcare environment, or possess a strong motivation to work in healthcare settings. Candidates should have effective communication abilities with diverse patients and colleagues and demonstrate excellent teamwork, negotiation, and organizational skills.
