Key Responsibilities

• Promptly respond to urgent care requests, providing immediate support to clients in their homes.
• Rapidly assess client needs to administer suitable care interventions effectively.
• Communicate clearly with care management regarding client status and actions taken.
• Follow care plans and established protocols strictly to avoid confusion during short-notice care delivery.
• Assist clients with personal care activities including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support, ensuring safe transfers and proper use of equipment.
• Administer prescribed medication in line with company policies.
• Offer companionship and emotional backing, promoting social interaction and involvement in activities.
• Help with meal preparation and household tasks to maintain a safe and comfortable home environment.
• Collaborate closely with healthcare professionals, family members, branch management, and care coordinators to provide seamless care.

Required Qualifications and Training

• QQI Level 5 Health Care Award or an equivalent qualification is mandatory.
• Possession of a full, clean driving license and access to a personal vehicle is essential.
• Completion of HSE LAND trainings including Children’s First, Safeguarding, Dementia Awareness, GDPR, Basics of Infection Prevention and Control, Hand Hygiene, and PPE usage in community healthcare.

• Proficiency in basic patient care duties such as bathing, feeding, dressing, and mobility assistance.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, combined with active listening.
• Ability to follow precise instructions and healthcare protocols.

• Teamwork-oriented with adaptability to changing care needs and environments.

• Physical capability for demanding healthcare tasks.

Experience Requirement

Prior healthcare experience is crucial for this position.

Working Conditions

• Work schedule comprises either three or four days per week with 12-hour shifts totaling 84 hours per fortnight.
• Availability is required between 8:00 AM and 9:00 PM, including every alternate weekend.
